Shabbat May 24, 2025
/Shabbat Shalom,
This has been a very difficult week. I, along with many of you have lost a good friend and a sweet, wonderful woman of God. Judith Williams had been in the hospital for a bypass procedure, I had visited with her a few days after, and she was recovering and she seemed to be doing well. She was telling me how she missed being with the “family” on Shabbat and couldn’t wait to get out of the hospital! As we talked and laughed together, complaining about hospital food (she still had stitches so laughing hurt a bit!) and as I was leaving a prayed over her and chanted the Aaronic blessing as I often do. I got a bit choked up as I laid my hands on her head. Early on Monday morning I received a call from her brother that she had passed, my heart was broken. On Wednesday evening, I’m hearing that two Jewish young people were murdered at The Jewish Museum in Washington DC. Again, my heart is hurting bad. Soon, I hear that they were actually Messianic Jewish Believers, known by many of our friends in Israel, and they were planning on getting engaged in a few days in Jerusalem! Friends, these are difficult days and the only place we can go to have true Shalom and refuge is running to be in Yeshua’s Presence! Judith and these two beautiful young people, are experiencing Him in all His glory and fullness, and we are here in pain, but staying under His shelter and “covered by His wings”, knowing that He will be faithful to bring us through these challenging days! We at Or Chaim, as Judith’s Spiritual family, will plan on a celebration of her in the latter half of June, so we will give you more details in the coming weeks.
As these things happen, I am reminded of the fact that we all have an eternal hope, but while we are here now we have a responsibility to proclaim and extend His kingdom, even and especially to the Jewish people! Romans 1:16 is clear, "FOR I AM NOT ASHAMED OF THE GOOD NEWS, FOR IT IS THE POWER OF GOD FOR SALVATION TO EVERYONE WHO TRUSTS —TO THE JEW FIRST AND ALSO TO THE GREEK.” I am so thankful that people shared the good news with me and prayed for my salvation. Many believe it is offensive or unnecessary to share the good news with Jewish people, after all “they are God’s problem”, as I have actually heard it said! That is a lie from the pit of hell! If Yeshua came for the lost sheep of Israel, and Paul is not ashamed to share the good news with his people, so we should be sharing with the Jewish people as well! I love my People, the Jewish people, and I pray for their salvation, even though as a Messianic believer I have been rejected by many of my people, I want to see them come to know their Messiah just as I have!
Come on out to Or Chaim this Shabbat May 24th, and worship with us! We meet at The Dwelling Place, 16800 W.9th Ave Golden, 80401, and we meet at 11am. I will be bringing the message as we continue on the theme of The Fear of The Lord, exploring another benefit of Godly fear, LEGACY! What does it mean and is it really important to me for today? This is incredibly important and it has ETERNAL benefits! Our times together on Shabbat have been so wonderful as Ruach Ha Kodesh (Holy Spirit) has been coming into our midst in powerful ways! WE WILL HAVE A POTLUCK ONEG FOLLOWING THE SERVICE, SO BRING A DISH TO SHARE AND STAY FOR FELLOWSHIP! Also, next Shabbat, May 31st, we will celebrate SHAVUOT, the Feast of weeks (Pentecost) with a special presentation of THE BOOK OF RUTH. If you have never experienced this time, plan on coming out to hear the story of Ruth, in word, song and dance! You will love it, and invite a friend to come on out!
