Shabbat June 3, 2017

Shabbat Shalom!

Millie and I have been at the Tikkun annual leadership meeting outside of Baltimore this week. It has been a refreshing time hearing from other Messianic Congregations from around the country, as well as Israel. We were challenged by Asher Intrader, from Jerusalem, that in order to walk in the power of the Ruach that was poured out on Shavuot 2000 years ago, we also have to embrace a lifestyle of humility! It was followed by an incredible time of response, as leaders repented of pride and arrogance, and received cleansing! I will be returning to Denver in Friday, and Millie will be heading for Israel as she joins with Paul Wilbur, and about a hundred others! Please keep her in prayer as she travels, and me as I will be taking care of my pups alone for the next couple of weeks!

This Shabbat, June 3rd, we will be having a special service as we celebrate Shavuot by praying for the congregation, city, our nation and Israel. Or Chaim is participating with other congregations in the region, crying out to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, for a fresh outpouring on our lives, congregations, nation, and of course Israel! God wants to pour it out, are we ready to receive? Come and join us, and be ready for an awesome encounter with the Holy One of Israel! On Sunday, June 4th, we will be joining with other Messianic congregations at Denver's Central Park, for a time of celebration, dance, singing, fellowship and food! We will be there from 10am-4pm, come out and join us, bring a lawn chair, the kids, some more food, and let's enjoy the day together!

See you this Shabbat, and remember, we will have a potluck Oneg following the service!  Please bring enough for our guests who may stay.

Blessings and Shabbat Shalom!

Shabbat May 27, 2017

Shabbat Shalom!

This week we went to see the one night only showing of IN OUR HANDS: THE BATTLE OF JERUSALEM , and it was phenomenal! It portrayed the epic battle, including the decisions behind it, and the personalities that made it happen. Also, it chronicled the history that led up to the 6 Day War, that changed the Middle East forever. Just as importantly, it laid out the Biblical basis for Jerusalem , not just as the capital of a noted and restored Israel, but as  the CITY OF THE GREAT KING! Hopefully, for those who were not able to see it, it will be released to a more widespread audience, as it is a “must see” for all of the body of Messiah! Interestingly, the theater was full and it was a Tuesday!  There will be a encore showing on June 1st so check a theater near you!

We have been sharing with you all for a while about this coming weekend: we will be welcoming Bill Bullock, The Rabbi’s Son, to be with us Shabbat, May 27th, for our morning service at 10:30am, as well as in the afternoon, from 2-5pm. You will not want to miss this service, and the profound truths illuminated in Torah, and available for us today! Invite friends, especially those who have never attended a Messianic Shabbat service, and experience what it must have been like 2000 years ago when the Ruach HaKodesh, blew His breath on a bunch of Jewish believers in Jerusalem, and the world was changed! All are invited to join us after the morning service for a potluck Oneg, fellowship, and Midrash. Bring your favorite dish and enough to share! Remember, we are a Messianic congregation so be sensitive to those who follow the Biblical dietary requirements.

10 Days Together, an initiative of prayer for our city, nation, and Israel, is taking place between Thursday, May 25th, and culminating on Sunday, June 4th, with a citywide gathering of congregations at Denver’s Central Park! The dates, times, and locations of the various meetings are on our website. The gathering at Central Park on the 4th, will be from 10am-4pm, there will be hot dogs (till they are gone!), so also bring other foods, water, suntan lotion, and a real desire for fun, fellowship, music and dance!

As Rav Shaul (the apostle Paul) says in 1 Thessalonians 5: “REJOICE ALWAYS, PRAY WITHOUT CEASING, GIVE THANKS IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES; FOR THIS IS THE WILL OF GOD IN YESHUA THE MESSIAH FOR YOU!”

HE IS ON THE MOVE, WE NEED TO BE ON OUR KNEES!

Blessings and Shabbat Shalom!

Shabbat May 20, 2017

Shabbat Shalom!

As I write this, I’m looking out my window and watching snow falling thinking “it’s late May, this isn’t supposed to be happening!”, but then I’m reminded “Its Colorado!” I am so looking forward to this Shabbat! Father has been speaking to me, and I know He is speaking to others, about how crucial it is to align my thinking with God's. The message this week is entitled “ARISE IN YOUR THINKING”, and we will explore how we can think in alignment with heaven thoughts. After the morning service, because of weather, WE WILL HAVE A POTLUCK ONEG IN THE FELLOWSHIP ROOM DOWNSTAIRS! Those who are going to Kaela Busby’s graduation/Bat Mitzvah, can leave Or Chaim by 2:15pm, and arrive at the Conifer Community Church by 3pm. It will be a great day, as we worship Adonai, rest in His presence, enjoy fellowship, and bless a wonderful young lady, Kaela Busby. Following the ceremony in Conifer, we are invited to stay for food, fellowship and fun!

Next Shabbat, May 27th, we will welcome Bill Bullock, The Rabbi’s Son ministry, who will be sharing during our morning service, and will have an afternoon session from 2:30pm-5pm. It will be an awesome day as he shares about the Biblical and present day importance of Shavuot. Of course, we will have a potluck Oneg after the morning service.

On Sunday, June 4th, we will celebrate Shavuot with the greater Denver Messianic community at Central Park, from 10am -4pm. All are invited for a great time of fellowship, music, dance and inspirational speakers! The theme for this years gathering is: The unifying power of the Spirit in bringing Jews and gentiles together in Messiah! You don’t want to miss this special event!

Don't forget, on Tuesday, May 23rd, there will be a special, one night only, showing of the docu-drama IN OUR HANDS, in a theater near you. To find a theater, go to inourhands1967.com.

Many things are happening, not just in the congregation and locally that we need to be in prayer for, but Millie and I also want to encourage all of you to continue to pray for our nation and leaders, especially our President. He will be traveling to the Middle East, including Israel, this week and he needs divine protection and wisdom! As I shared last week, a spirit of violence has been unleashed from hell, bringing vitriolic hatred and accusation to a greater degree than ever before. We are called to intercede and pray for those in authority, and to call out for righteousness in justice in all areas of society, without ceasing, especially as we see the Last Days approaching!

Blessings and Shabbat Shalom to all of you!

Shabbat 5/13/2017

Shabbat Shalom Mishpacha!

This Shabbat, May 13th, we are welcoming Ron and Nadia Kaufman from SPIRIT OF THE MARTYRS MINISTRY. They have a heart to reach the persecuted church in the Middle East, and North Africa with the amazing truth of the Kingdom of God! They will be sharing during our morning service.  Following our Oneg we will have an afternoon session from 2-3:30pm. God is doing incredible things among Muslims, things that we don’t hear about in the media. Signs and wonders are taking place and are bringing those who once raised their fists to Yeshua to now bow their knees to Him! This will be a great opportunity to invite your friends, especially those who are interested in what God is doing in those parts of the world. We will be taking a love offering for Ron and Nadia to bless their work.

The following week, May 20th, we are all invited to Kaela Busby’s belated Bat Mitzvah/graduation following our morning service. After the service, those who would like to go will meet at Conifer Community Park in the town of Conifer and enjoy a picnic lunch with each other in lieu of our Oneg. Bring your picnic basket, a blanket, and your frisbee! From 3-4:30pm we will meet at Conifer Community Church: 9998 Havekost Rd. Conifer just south of Hwy. 285. Following the ceremony, all are invited to stay for food, fellowship, and fun from 4:30-8pm. Carpooling from Or Chaim is an option to consider.

On Shabbat, May 27th, we will be welcoming Bill Bullock of the Rabbi’s Son Ministry who will share with us all day. He is an anointed teacher of the Word and a gifted storyteller who brings to life the truth of how we were empowered at Shavuot!  He will be sharing in our morning service and following our Oneg will be teaching in the afternoon. You will truly be blessed by His teaching!

We will be celebrating Shavuot with the Denver Messianic community on the weekend of June 3-4, 2017. On Shabbat, June 3rd, during our service we will be praying for an outpouring of the Ruach HaKodesh to be released on our city and our nation! We are part of 10DAYS TOGETHER, a local initiative of congregations and churches coming together to bless Denver, the USA, and Israel to cry out on behalf of “Avinu Malchenu” our Father and our King! On Sunday, June 4th, we will gather as a community at Central Park to celebrate the giving of Torah and the Spirit with the theme of “UNITY IN THE SPIRIT”!

As you can see there is a lot coming up in the next few weeks! The Kingdom is advancing, and Or Chaim Congregation is committed to see His purposes fulfilled in our lives, families, nation, and Israel! All of these events are catalysts to transformation! Come and be part of it!

Blessings and Shabbat Shalom!

Special Speakers coming to Or Chaim

Special Guest Speakers coming to Or Chaim!

Shalom!

We want to let you know of some special services taking place at Or Chaim during the month of May. We believe they will be significant events for the Body of Messiah, as we see the kingdom of God advancing in our city, and into the nations. Please consider attending these meetings and inviting those in your churches and congregations to join with us.

A few months ago, Millie and I met a dynamic young couple, Ron and Nadia Kaufman, at a leadership conference in Kansas City. They are part of the team at SPIRIT OF MARTYRDOM MINISTRIES, committed to reaching the persecuted church, especially in North Africa, Middle East, and Indian sub-continent with the good news of the kingdom. Nadia has a radical testimony of  being saved in a Muslim family in Algeria, that will encourage us all with her story of overcoming faith, hope and love, in the midst of suffering for Yeshua! Ron will share about how God transformed him from a broken young man trapped in drugs and immorality, to a passionate and bold witness fearlessly proclaiming God’s love to persecuted peoples all over the world! They will be coming to Or Chaim Congregation on Saturday, May 13th, and will be sharing during our morning service beginning at 10:30am. You are invited to join us for lunch following the service, and we will have an afternoon session, which will conclude at 3:30pm.

On Saturday, May 27th, we will be welcoming Bill Bullock, The Rabbi’s Son ministry, to share with us, at our Shabbat service 10:30 am from Torah, The Prophets, and the New Covenant about Shavuot (Pentecost), and how we can experience it in our lives today. He has a very unique and dynamic way of bringing us into the story of Biblical events, that leads to incredible revelation and personal transformation. Again, you are invited to join us for lunch, and Bill will have an afternoon session, from 2pm-5pm with question and answer time following.

We will  be taking a love offering at both of these services, to bless these ministries. Or Chaim Congregation is located at 166 S. Lookout Mountain Rd., Golden, 80401, and we meet in Gateway On Mt. Zion Church. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Chag Pesach Sameach!

Hope you all are enjoying this special Passover week! Or Chaim Congregation celebrated a wonderful Seder on Monday night, as over 100 people crowded into the fellowship room to enjoy the incredible story of deliverance and freedom for the people of God! The cups were drank, the 4 questions were asked, Dayenu was sung, and so many other reminders of this season were re-created. Everyone enjoyed a scrumptious meal, and a good time was had by all! On Tuesday, Millie and I went to Yuma, Co. and did a mini-Seder for about 30 people, many who had never experienced one before, it was truly an awesome time, as Millie was able to share her testimony of God’s breaking bondages off her life.
This Shabbat, I will be continuing our study on operating in heaven’s court, with a timely message on the voice of the Judge. You don’t want to miss it! WE WILL HAVE A POTLUCK ONEG FOLLOWING THE SERVICE, SO BRING A DISH TO SHARE, AND STAY FOR FELLOWSHIP AND MIDRASH.

Shabbat 4/8/2017

Shabbat Shalom Mishpacha!

Well, we are getting ready to celebrate another new year on the kingdom calendar! With Passover coming up in a few days, did you know that God says “it is to be the first month of the year to you”? We begin our celebration on this shabbat as we look at the connection between Peach (Passover), the blood, and the testimony of our Mediator, Yeshua! I will be sharing about the role of the Mediator, and how our voice agreeing with the Mediator is powerful and accomplishes much. Join us at 10:30am this Shabbat, April 8th, as we worship the Lamb of God, and set apart this special day with each other. Following the service, we will be enjoying a potluck Oneg, so bring a dish to share and stay for rich fellowship. FOR THOSE INVOLVED WITH PASSOVER PLANNING, WE WILL BE HAVING A MEETING AT ONEG, SO IT WILL BE IMPORTANT TO BE THERE!

If you have not purchased Passover tickets yet, there is still time and a few (not many) tickets left. Please go to our website at: www.Or-Chaim.com and order on PayPal, or contact us directly. The Seder will be Monday, April 10th, at 6pm, and will be a great evening as we retell the story (Haggadah) of the Israelites deliverance from Egypt, and enjoy a wonderful catered meal!

Just a reminder, if you miss a service, you can listen to the teachings on our website, but it’s always better live and in-person! Look forward to seeing you soon!

Shabbat 4/1/2017

Shabbat Shalom!

This week promises to be another powerful time in the presence of The Lord! I will be sharing a message from God's heart about the incredible voice that the blood of Yeshua declares in every situation. It will be a very practical and timely message in regards to what scripture says about blood, and how to apply it in our day to day lives.

WE WILL HAVE A POTLUCK ONEG/MIDRASH FOLLOWING THE SERVICE, SO BRING YOUR FAVORITE DISH!

Remember, coming up on Monday, April 10th, at 6pm, Or Chaim will be celebrating our annual Passover Seder! This will be a wonderful and festive evening as we recall the Haggadah (story) of our people's deliverance from Egypt. There are still tickets available, so don't miss out!

Some are concerned about the weather forecast of snow for this Shabbat. As of now, we are planning on having our Shabbat service. The last thing I want to do is cancel our service! We will keep you posted by Facebook and email, so check these out early Shabbat morning. Pray for dry roads and drive safely!

Can't wait till Shabbat, see you then!

Shabbat 3/25/2017

Shabbat Shalom Mishpacha!

Join us this Shabbat, March 25th, at 10:30am, as we remember and observe this "Yom Kadosh"(Holy Day). The Shabbat is the first thing that God declared Holy! It is a "rehearsal" of the Messianic age, when we will find our rest in the person of Yeshua! At Or Chaim, we love to worship Him, read from the Torah and respond to His presence, and encourage one another. This week, I will be sharing a message about 2 mountains we see in scripture, Mt. Sinai and Mt. Zion. We really sense that He wants to speak to us through this important message! We will be having a potluck Oneg following the service, so bring a dish to share with everyone. Also, Millie and I would like to have a debrief with those who were on the Bless Israel outreach at our Oneg. We are already putting the next trip together for February 12-26, 2018!

Get your tickets for our Passover Seder now! We will be enjoying the beautiful Haggadah (story) from our personalized Haggadah, and an amazing catered dinner on Monday, April 10th, at 6pm. It will be a great time with your family, and of course, invite your friends and co-workers! It's a great opportunity to hear the good news of the kingdom, as portrayed in the exodus from Egypt.

We so look forward to seeing all of you on Shabbat!

Shabbat 3/18/2017

Shabbat Shalom Mishpacha!

75 degrees in mid-March? Welcome to Colorado! Did we even have winter this year? That is what we love about living here, unpredictability!

Or Chaim Congregation had a wonderful celebration of Purim last week, as we compared that story prophetically to what is happening in 2017. Some of us dressed up as biblical characters, and others dressed as some kind of hybrid cowboy/girl gig! We enjoyed 'hamantashen' after service, courtesy of Jill Meisel. Many of us had fasted during the week, as we interceded for the USA and Israel.

This Shabbat we will welcome our dear friends Tim and Sandy Ravan from the ministry Global Connectors. They have been ministering and setting up houses of prayer in middle eastern nations that are, for the most part, closed to westerners. Hear what God is doing in spite of the enemies attempts to destroy, and learn how you can join with them in seeing the good news of Yeshua penetrate into places of darkness, and bring the light of our God there! WE WILL HAVE A POTLUCK ONEG FOLLOWING THE SERVICE, SO BRING A DISH AND JOIN US!

We will be starting something new this week, during our Oneg. For those of you who are interested, we will be having a "Midrash with the Elders" a time of Q and A, of things that are on your heart. It's an ancient Jewish tradition for the disciples and Rabbis to sit and discuss (yes, even argue!) about scripture or cultural issues of the day. It's a time to ask and discuss about 'what is Messianic Judaism?' Why do we worship on the 7th day? Is liturgy biblical? Or anything else you would like to talk about. Grab your food and we will meet and eat together!

Also, Our Passover Seder will be held on Monday, April 10th, at 6pm in the fellowship room. Get your tickets now by contacting Della Lort or by going to Or-Chaim.com

Hope to see all of you this Shabbat!

Purim Shabbat 3/11/2017

Chag Sameach and Shabbat Shalom! The book of Esther comes alive as we celebrate and observe the festival of Purim! Mordecai, the protective uncle and faithful watchman for his people, tells the beautiful maiden, Esther: “if you remain silent at this time, RELIEF and DELIVERANCE will arise for the Jews from another place …who knows whether you have not attained royalty FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS?” We are living in extraordinary times, where we are seeing an aligning of nations, good and evil rising proportionately as society walks farther away from God’s commands, anti-semitism raising it’s ugly head, and of course, the Jews and Israel being blamed for all the problems on planet earth! I believe God is making His plea to speak to kings and those in authority through us, His One New Man body, to walk in righteousness, boldly proclaim truth, and declare God’s purposes for Israel and the United States Of America!

Join us this Shabbat, March 11, at 10:30am, as we celebrate this 10th feast of the year, Purim, by hearing the wonderful story of Esther (Hadassah), Mordecai, Haman (hiss!!! boo!!), and the unseen, yet very real hand of God bringing deliverance to His covenant people. Yes, it’s time to dress up as these biblical characters, or if you want to expand your horizons, and add a cowboy/skier theme to the usual repertoire. We will also be looking at the prophetic significance of this story. Many of us are joining with others throughout the country in a 3 day “Esther Fast” (Est.4:16), between March 8-11, and will end the fast after the service. WE WILL BE HAVING A POTLUCK ONEG FOLLOWING THE SERVICE, SO BRING A DISH AND ENOUGH TO SHARE. An idea, for those coming coming off the fast, soups would be great! We will also be having “Hamantashen”, following the service, courtesy of Jillian Meisel!

Remember, Passover is coming up on Monday, April 10th. Tickets are on sale through our website or you can contact Lynne McDowell or Della Lort. Get them quickly because they will go fast, and space is limited! Many other things are going on at Or Chaim Congregation, check out our calendar and get involved!

Shabbat 3/4/2017

Shalom Mishpacha!

It definitely feels like Spring is on it’s way! With Purim coming up soon, and Passover just around the corner, you know it’s just a matter of weeks before we see the signs of new life budding. It is a special time of the year, and as we look at all that is happening around the world, we give all honor and praise to our wonderful God!

Last week we had an awesome service as Michele Bartlett gave an anointed teaching from Torah on the power of forgiveness. To forgive, as God commands us to forgive, is so freeing and yet so difficult as He wants us to become more like Yeshua, and not want any roots of bitterness to be found in us! We were also blessed as Siri and Russ Crider put together a great slide presentation of our trip to Israel that brought many of us to tears. Seeing the faces of those precious survivors, and the young Israelis passionately leading ministries in the land today, impacted so deeply. As we ended our service by celebrating The Lord’s supper of reconciliation, we all sensed that God is on the move in the midst of Or Chaim!

Join us this Shabbat, at 10:30 am as we worship together and experience the presence of Adonai as we hear and apply His Word. I will be sharing a message about how we are to answer the accuser of our souls as we operate in the courtroom of heaven. Do you realize that Satan has only one weapon in his arsenal, and that it is already rendered powerless? We as the Bride of Messiah need to know what Yeshua has already done for us!

WE WILL NOT BE HAVING AN ONEG FOLLOWING THE SERVICE AS WE WILL BE ENJOYING HAVDALAH FELLOWSHIP AT 5PM AT THE HOME OF JIM AND MICHELE BARTLETT, 11432 W. COOPER DR., LITTLETON, 80127. PLEASE BRING A MAIN DISH, SALAD, SIDE DISH OR DESSERT as you would for oneg. These are great evenings of fun, fellowship, and worship, as we close out the Shabbat. All are invited and I want to encourage you, if you are new to Or Chaim, come on out and meet the folks!

We will be celebrating Passover at Or Chaim on Monday evening, April 10th at 6pm. Join us for this special evening, as we take part in this Feast of The Lord, and hear the beautiful “Haggadah “(story) of the Exodus, a story of deliverance and salvation for Israel, and for all of us! We will enjoy a wonderful catered dinner, and it is a time for the entire family, as well as inviting your co-workers and friends to hear about the miracles that God did for His people! Tickets are on sale now, through PayPal on our website or you can order through Della Lort or Lynne McDowell. Please get your tickets quickly, because they will go fast, and space is limited!

There are many other things going on at Or Chaim, we are a growing congregation, and our heart is to reach the front range with the good news of the gospel. If you have never experienced a Messianic Jewish service, come and be part of what is happening, and enjoy the beauty and traditions of this expression. We love Yeshua and desire to express our love in a very Jewish way! See you on Shabbat!

Be Blessed and Shabbat Shalom!

Shabbat February 25, 2017

Shabbat Shalom Mishpacha!

We're Back! Fifteen of us just returned back from 2 weeks in Israel! I think all of us would agree that it was a powerful time, as we served holocaust survivors, visited Messianic ministries in the land, and experienced the places Yeshua walked. Many of us are still overcoming jet lag and various sickness, but come back with a greater appreciation of what God is doing in the land today. We look forward to sharing with all of you over the next weeks what we experienced and how it impacted us. One of our callings at Or Chaim, is to embrace and come alongside the Messianic body in Israel, not just financially, but in practical ways. One of the biggest blessings we had was serving meals, singing, dancing, and distributing gifts that we brought to the precious survivors and seeing the joy in their faces!

Don’t miss this Shabbat, February 25th! I will be sharing the second part of a message I began before we left, on how do we answer the accuser of the brethren. We will also be celebrating the Lord’s supper together. What a beautiful picture of celebrating covenant it is when we join together in remembering Him! WE WILL BE HAVING AN ONEG AFTER THE SERVICE, SO BRING YOUR FAVORITE DISH AND ENOUGH TO SHARE! Next Shabbat, March 4th, we will be having a Havdalah fellowship at Jim and Michele Bartlett’s house at 5:00pm. All are invited to this wonderful evening of fellowship, food, and ending the Shabbat!

Millie and I are looking forward to seeing all of you this Shabbat! Also, keep those in our congregation who are battling with illness in your prayer, including Judith Williams and Jan Rubin, who have spent time in hospital this week. Prayer is powerful!

Shabbat Shalom and Blessings,

Stewart and Millie
