Shabbat April 18, 2026
/Shabbat Shalom!
As we were listening to our audio Bible this morning, I was struck by the story in Luke 18 about Yeshua healing the blind man. He was passing by Jericho on His way to Jerusalem for the last time. He knew that He would be arrested, abused and killed in a few days, and still he stopped and asked the man, “What do you want me to do for you?”. Have you ever thought about how God can be overseeing the whole universe, with all the wars and evil taking place, and Yeshua facing execution in a few days, and yet he still has time and concern for us? That day the crowd was telling the blind man to be quiet, but his persistence and faith brought healing into his life! So, don’t ever think that God is too busy to be concerned about you and your needs!
Come out this Shabbat April 18th and worship our wonderful God with us! We meet at 16800 W.9th Ave Golden, 80401and we begin at 11am.Last Shabbat we had a time of “midrash”, discussing aspects of covenant, dealing with questions people have, and digging into the Scriptures. It is something we want to do more often, discussing Scripture and learning new things. This Shabbat, I will be concluding our overview of the Mosaic (Sinai) covenant and its relevance for us today. It is probably the most detailed and controversial of all the Covenants. Bring your Bibles and notebooks because we will be “old school” tomorrow with no slides and powerpoint to help us! WE WILL HAVE A POTLUCK ONEG FOLLOWING THE SERVICE, SO BRING A DISH TO SHARE AND STAY FOR FELLOWSHIP! On Sunday April 19th, we will be joining with the Jewish community of the metro Denver to commemorate Holocaust Remembrance Day. It is an annual event to remember the 6 million Jews who were murdered by the nazis, just for being Jewish. Unfortunately it seems like the same demonic hatred displayed 80 years ago, is still alive in the form of virulent anti-semitism and violence against Jews today. It has become “mainstream” now, with politicians and goverment leaders embracing it, or being silent when it erupts. This event takes place at Babi Yar Memorial Park, 10451 Yale Ave, Denver, 80231between 2-4pm. In checking the weather, it is supposed to be 72 degrees and sunny this Sunday so don’t let todays rain or cold trouble you!
We SO look forward to seeing you this Shabbat! Community is so important, especially in these days of craziness!
