Happy Sukkot! Join us!
/Shabbat Shalom!
What an exciting time of the year! We are in the midst of Succoth, the last of the High Holy Days, which we will be celebrating this weekend, along with other Congregations and churches. Also, this is the 2 year anniversary of the horrific attack by Hamas on Israel on 10/7/23. It seems as though a “cease fire” brokered by President Trump is taking effect as I write this, and the hostages will be released within 72 hours. Of course we pray that all goes well and that the healing process can really begin for Israel and the region, but because I know the nature of the adversary who has “signed” this agreement, I urge caution in being too optimistic. We know that the nature of the Middle East has changed dramatically over the last two years because of the military triumph of Israel, but we also know what the Scripture says and we must continue to be “Watchmen on the Wall” and pray unceasingly for the protection and salvation of Israel!
This weekend we will be gathering at Castlewood Canyon Church to celebrate Succoth! WE WILL NOT BE MEETING AT THE DWELLING PLACE THIS SHABBAT! We will meet at C.C.C. in Franktown beginning this evening, October 10th at 6:45pm under the Succah at the fire pit to welcome this special Shabbat! The address is: 389 Castlewood Canyon Rd. Franktown, 80116. Millie and I will bless the Shabbat and Rabbi David Katz from Yeshuat Tzion Congregation will bring the message this evening. Bring your camping chairs and wear some warm clothing and bring some light snacks to share! It will be a lot of fun and if you are feeling adventurous, bring your tent and sleeping bags and spend the weekend!
ON SHABBAT MORNING, OCTOBER 11TH, WE WILL MEET AT 10AM IN THE SANCTUARY! OR CHAIM WILL BE LEADING THE SERVICE, OUR DANCE TEAM WILL BE BRINGING SPECIAL DANCES AND I WILL BE BRINGING THE MESSAGE ABOUT THE MEANING OF SUCCOTH! WE WILL HAVE AN ONEG FOLLOWING THE SERVICE, SO BRING A DISH TO SHARE AND STAY FOR FELLOWSHIP! REMEMBER, THE STARTING TIME OF THE SERVICE IS 10AM!
On Sunday, October 12th, the celebration continues! Our dear friend from the nation of Zambia, Rabbi Alex Yalenga will bring the message to us! The service will begin at 10amand will be in the sanctuary. We will have a wonderful time of worship, as we will for the entire weekend, as we follow the commands of Torah in Leviticus 23, “… and rejoice before Adonai your God for seven days … it is a statute forever throughout your generations”. So, come on out to all these special gatherings and invite your friends from other churches!
