Shabbat Sept 20, 2025
/Shabbat Shalom and Chag Sameach!
Wow! Millie and I just returned from Kenya late last night and what a blessed and wonderful time it was! We always love visiting our “adopted” family in Kenya, but this time was very special. Not only did we visit the schools and the orphanages, but this year we were introduced to new friends in other parts of the nation. Our team of 5 did much more traveling this year from Mlolongo (Nairobi) to Mwingi to Kitui to Kwavonga, Nkuro, Kakamega, Kitale, Kisumu (Lake Victoria), Narok and back to Nairobi! I know, you probably have no idea where these places are, but it is much of Kenya! From ministering to children in the slums operated by our dear friends, to the church congregations, to Anglican pastors and bishops, businessmen and women, well, you get the point, great times of imparting and receiving. Physically, as you can imagine it took its toll on us and we are both struggling with respiratory issues and a lot of fatigue! Pray for a quick recovery! We will share more with you tomorrow at Shabbat.
The Fall Moadim are upon us! Monday eveningSeptember 22nd at 6:30 pm we will celebrate YOM TERUAH (Feast of Trumpets/Rosh HaShana)! We will be having services at 16800 W.9th Ave Golden, 80401, so BRING YOUR SHOFARS AND FRIENDS TO ENJOY THIS WONDERFUL EVENING OF CELEBRATION! As we enter the Hebrew year 5786, the themes of this season are Introspection, Expectation, and Habitation. Come on out to Shabbat on September 20th, as I lay out the Biblical importance of this feast and lay the foundations for the 10 Days of Awe that begin on Yom Teruah, and culminate on Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) on Wednesday October 1st.WE WILL HAVE A POTLUCK ONEG FOLLOWING THE SERVICE, SO BRING A DISH TO SHARE AND STAY FOR FELLOWSHIP! This has been a memorable year for many of us, a time of loss and transition, also some good and exciting things and some tragic events as well. The seventh Hebrew month brings completion, but also NEW BEGINNINGS! So come on out to our services, invite family and friends and let's welcome and rejoice in what God commands us to observe! We will observe Yom Kippur at The Dwelling Place on Wednesday evening, October 1st at 6:30pm so mark it on your calendar and ALL ARE INVITED!
We will be celebrating Succoth from October 10th through the 12that Castlewood Canyon Church! We like to do it the Biblical way, joining with other Congregations and meeting under a Succah under the stars! We will be giving you more details as we come closer to the time. As you can see, this is a very active and Spiritually intense season, so let’s come together as Mishpacha (family) and worship Yeshua together and encourage one another as the Scripture exhorts us in Hebrews 10:25, “… but encourage one another — and all the more so as you see the Day approaching.”
