Shabbat May 13, 2023

Shabbat Shalom!

Spring rains are good and we here in dry Colorado definitely need this moisture! However, over the last 48 hours or so, some folks even in our Congregation, are experiencing flooding in their homes! Please pray for them as they dry their homes and belongings out! These are times when we as a community need one another to come alongside to help out in carrying one another’s burdens!

We at Or Chaim have joined with millions of others around the world to pray for the salvation of Israel. About 500 people from around the State came together last weekend in Pagosa Springs for an intense time of prayer and strategizing to reach the lost sheep of Israel! Many of us are fasting and setting aside specific times of intercession, as we sense that this is from God’s heart and will be key in seeing the triumphant return of Yeshua Ha Massiach to Jerusalem! Why should we pray for Israel? Many people are asking that question and it would be easy to just say “because God tells us to”, and this is true. However, we pray for Israel because our Heavenly Father entered into covenant with this people and set His love on them (Deut.7:7-8), and has promised in the last days that He will fulfill covenant with them and that they will be saved (Rom.11:25-27)! In the same chapter of Romans it says that their acceptance of Messiah will be “life from the dead!” We want to see revival in America and in Israel and in all the nations, so when we pray what’s on the heart of God, we can expect Him to move in a mighty way. Also, we know that Satan will stir up God’s enemies to bring intimidation, fear and calamity. That is what is happening as I write this today, literally hundreds of rockets are being fired into Israel from Gaza. Be in prayer and also pray for those who are Israel’s enemies that they will have an encounter with the God who loves His people!

Come on out to Or Chaim meeting at the Dwelling Place this Shabbat May 13th at 11am as we celebrate Shabbat together! We are located at 16800 W.9th Ave, Golden 80401. I have been sharing in the last few weeks about the demonic spirits operating in our land, and how to pray against them. Also, I want to begin a ‘midrash’ (Biblically based discussion) on what does a Messianic Jewish Congregation look like and how do we relate to the Ecclesia (Church) in our community and region? We will not be able to conclude a discussion like that in one service, but I want us to be able to start to articulate this because of its importance. WE WILL HAVE AN ONEG FOLLOWING THE SERVICE, SO BRING A BIBLICALLY APPROPRIATE (no pork or seafood!) DISH TO SHARE AND STAY FOR FELLOWSHIP AFTER THE SERVICE! Keep in mind, some are in various fasts, so soups, salads, fruit and veggies would be great! Also we will not be able to stream our services this Shabbat.

Also, many have asked how they can give through our different donation methods…You can go to our Or Chaim Congregation website https://www.or-chaim.com  and at MENU, go to GIVING AND TITHING and simply click the DONATE button and follow the prompts. Or you can text ‘orchaim’ to (833) 877-2788.  You may always send checks to 1658 Deer Creek Rd., Monument, Co. 80132

Blessings and Shabbat Shalom!
