Shabbat June 17, 2017

Shalom!
I want to encourage all of you to read the upcoming Torah portion, entitled “Shlach L’kha”, Numbers 13:1-15:41, meaning “Send on your behalf”. It dovetails well with what we have been looking at over the last weeks, how important it is to see ourselves the way God sees us! Who’s opinion are you going to believe?? This Shabbat, June 17th, I will be sharing about how we can arise in our thinking about God, yourselves, life, and heaven. You don’t want to miss this week! We will be having a potluck Oneg following the service, so bring a dish, and enjoy the fellowship with your mishpacha!

All of us have been rocked in the last few days to see how the rhetoric we are immersed in every day has gotten so toxic, that it eventually boiled over to the shooting of politicians, because they think differently than someone else. I think all of us can agree, this cannot continue or this country that we love will be certainly lost. As Believers in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, we are not to live in the same way as those without hope! We know that He is the only salvation for this nation, and that we are to be faithful witnesses of the one who called us “out of darkness and into His marvelous light! When confronted with hate, violence, and intolerance, we are to respond with an overflowing abundance of love and grace, even when the easiest thing to do would be to respond in the same spirit as has just come against us. Hard to do, and I’m preaching to myself, but it is our calling in Yeshua HaMessiah, to respond in the opposite spirit, His Spirit!

I am so happy that Millie will be returning from Israel this week! She has had an awesome time and hopefully she will be able to share in the next few weeks of some of what she experienced. We look forward to seeing you all this Shabbat, and, when you aren’t there, we really do miss you!

Blessings and Shabbat Shalom!
