Hineni 2019

Shalom Mishpacha! As I sit in my warm house on the last day of 2018 watching the snow fall and the temperature drop, I am thankful for all that our Lord has done  in the last 12 months! Not all has been easy, as many of you can attest, but I have a confidence and assurance in His goodness and faithfulness that He will complete what He has begun, in me, my family, and your lives as well as Or Chaim in the upcoming year!

Every year we ask the Father for a theme that will lead us as a congregation in the next year. The other day as we were discussing the Torah portion of the week, Shemot, we explored the calling of Moses from the burning bush. “Hineni”, or as is often translated, “Here am I”, was his response. What revelation came to us as we looked at that word! It’s not just a casual “hey, I’m over here” kind of response but a desire in Moses to actually go over and explore this phenomenon in the desert, and respond and say “I am willing and available to respond to extraordinary things and participate with the “I am” God to see greater things take place!”  The prophet Isaiah responded in a similar way when he saw The Lord “sitting on a throne, high and lifted up” in the temple. He not only said “Hineni”, he said “SEND ME”. Many other examples throughout scripture where ordinary, weak, flawed, stubborn and quite dysfunctional people said YES to God and did incredible things! When we respond to Him with HINENI, it isn’t about your wonderful abilities and gifts, it’s about Him enabling you to do great things because you said “I’m here, use me!” As a matter of fact, He can use you in spite of your abilities and gifts, because in that way He gets all the praise and glory!

As I shared last Shabbat about a recent dream, I heard the words “come and I will show you the Bride”. We will see God work in us to do a major “makeover”, as He prepares us for His return. Remember, He is coming back for a spotless bride! He will speak to us and probably say something we will find impossible to do in our own strength. But, as Moses and Isaiah, David, Peter,  and so many others declared in various ways, Hineni, so this should be our response in this coming 2019! In this upcoming year, Father wants our availability and willingness and He will give us the ability and provision and strength. The “BRIDE” will look very different this time next year as we respond with “Hineni, send me!”

Millie and I, as well as the wonderful leadership team of Or Chaim want to wish all of you an incredibly blessed 2019! Our prayer for you and your families is that this would be a year of “HINENI”, where our response will lead to BREAKTHROUGH, FULFILLMENT AND FRUITFULNESS!
This will require us to “make space” for more of His Presence. Dr. Henry Cloud uses the term “Necessary Endings”, in other words removing unwanted things from our lives so that we can make ourselves more available to the King of Kings, to do His purposes! HINENI IN 2019
Shalom and Blessing,
Stewart and Millie

Shabbat 12/29/2018

Shabbat Shalom!

Wow, the last Shabbat of 2018! In a dream last night, I heard very clearly “Come, I will show you the Bride”! I am not one to get prophetic dreams often so this was significant for me. All day I have been asking Father what this means. What I sense is that 2019 will be a year of intense preparation for His sons and daughters and by this time next year there will be incredible changes in our community as well as the international Body of Messiah! Not to fear...in the midst of the intensity and challenges...as we surrender to Him we will see His character, nature and faithfulness revealed as we never have before! Buckle up for the ride!

This Shabbat, December 29th we will be having an exciting service, with maybe a surprise or two! Millie, Patricia and hopefully Amber will be sharing about their incredible adventure to Kenya including the open doors in that part of the world. We will also have a special guest with a very powerful testimony of how God can take a life that others would throw away (abort), and turn him into someone who blesses countless others! Their is no life that God has not destined for His purposes, if we are willing to love and serve Him!

THERE WILL BE A POT-BLESS ONEG FOLLOWING THE SERVICE, SO BRING A DISH TO SHARE AND STAY FOR FELLOWSHIP AND MEET OUR SPECIAL GUEST!

There will be Hebrew class at 9am, and Torah Club following Oneg at 3pm.

This will be the last service of the year to have your giving and tithes counted for 2018! Hard to believe this year is coming to an end, but we have so much to be thankful for! Millie and I want to wish all of you a wonderful and blessed 2019 and want to thank you all for the blessing you have been to us and the love you have poured out to our congregation!

Blessings and Shabbat Shalom!

Light of Life! Emmanuel God With Us!

To all our friends who celebrate Emmanuel ”God with Us” as prophesied in Isaiah 7:14 here is a prayer and word!

THE TRUMPET by BILL BURNS

Prayer:  Lord, help us to give ourselves to You and Your purposes in the same Spirit of love that You gave Yourself to us.  Anoint us with Your Holy Spirit and help us to allow Him to lead and guide us into all that You have for us.  Let us enter this new season with You as our Guide.  Psalm 32:8  I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.

SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by MARSHA BURNS

As deep darkness covers the earth, I have called My people to let your light shine wherever you are and in whatever circumstance you find yourself.  Light is the evidence of spiritual life.  Your light will be a genuine state of being that cannot be snuffed out because it emanates from your connection to Me, says the Lord.  John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life."

Shabbat Dec 22, 2018

SHABBAT SHALOM!

At the end of the year as many of you do, I tend to “take stock”of my life, my relationships and my work. As Millie had been away on a missions journey to Kenya these last 2 weeks, it has given me some quality ‘alone’ time do this. Usually I come away from these times saying I can better in this area or that area, make a resolution to change or tweak something and then quickly forget what it was I wanted to change! These past couple of years, I have come to realize the urgency of the time we are living in, and how they parallel the “end of the age” the prophets and apostles spoke of thousands of years ago. You may say, “come on Stew, we’ve heard this message so often, what’s changed?” Everything has changed and so quickly! I am more convinced then ever before that the promises of God are true, and it is imperative that what He is doing demands a response from me/us, not just mental assent! When Yeshua returns, HE WILL BRING THE RESTORATION OF ALL THINGS, shouldn’t we as Believers be working toward that now? Are my actions, words and thought life such that I am inviting His return? If not, we can repent and ask forgiveness and start afresh today! We are called to be light in a dark world, so in the coming days and months let us speak truth in love, bring blessing and not curse, and be vessels of faith expressed with joy and Shalom!

Speaking of Millie, she and the other ladies (Patricia, Amber, Lynnette and Carla), have returned safely from their missions Journey to Nairobi, Kenya! They were so blessed as they came alongside house churches, teaching on various aspects of worship, bringing revelation of God’s heart for them and sharing His covenant purposes for Israel in these days! They will share with us shortly on their amazing trip! Thank you everyone for your prayer for this team of warriors!

This Shabbat, December 22nd I will be continuing a message I began a few weeks ago on THE RESTORATION OF ALL THINGS  as we explore the last prophetic promise of the Tanach, THE TURNING OF THE HEARTS OF THE FATHERS TO THE CHILDREN IN THE LAST DAYS! What does this look like in our families and communities? How do we personalize this to see it become reality in our lives? This is what we will be looking at this week.

ALSO, BECAUSE OF A GATEWAY ON MT. ZION HOLIDAY EVENT, WE WILL NOT BE HAVING OUR ONEG FOLLOWING THE SERVICE!

TORAH CLUB WILL BE CANCELLED THIS SHABBAT AS AARON’s GRANDPA HAD A HEART ATTACK AND AARON HAD TO LEAVE TOWN. PLEASE KEEP THEM IN PRAYER.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING ALL OF YOU THIS SHABBAT!  FOR THOSE AWAY WITH FAMILY OVER THE HOLIDAYS...we will miss you!

BLESSING AND SHABBAT SHALOM!

At the end of the year, as many of you do, I tend to “take stock’ of my life, my relationships and my work. As Millie has been away on a missions journey to Kenya this last week, it has given me some quality ‘alone’ time to do this! Usually I come away from these times saying I can do better in this area or that area, make a resolution to change or tweak something and then quickly forget about what it was I wanted to change! These past couple of years, I have come to realize the urgency of the time we are living in, and how they parallel the “end of the age” that the apostles and prophets spoke of thousands of years ago. You might say "big deal, Stew, we’ve heard this message before, whats changed?” I guess nothing has changed (although they have!), except I am more firmly convinced than ever before that the promises of God are true, and it is imperative that what He is doing demands a response from me/us, not just mental assent! When Yeshua returns, He will bring the restoration of ALL THINGS, shouldn’t we as Believers be working toward that now? Are my actions, words and thought life such that I am inviting His return? If not, we repent and start today! We are called to be light in a dark world, so in the coming days and months let us speak truth in love, bring blessing and not curse, and be vessels of faith expressed with joy and Shalom!

Speaking of Millie, she and the other ladies (Patricia, Amber, Lynnette and Carla), are enjoying immensely their time in Nairobi, Kenya! They are coming alongside house churches, teaching on various aspects of worship, bringing revelation of God’s heart for them, as well as sharing His covenant purposes for Israel in these days! If you have been following on Facebook, there is just an outpouring of joy, as they are dancing, flagging, and picking up trash in the community! Continue to pray for these “worshipping warriors” as they are expressing the love of Yeshua to these precious people! They will be returning on December 19th, and I am sure they are receiving as much from their hosts as they are pouring out. As Millie and I have shared before, our hearts are to “GO”, into Israel, as well as the nations! Fulfilling the Great Commission (Mt.28) is not a calling for just a few, but a command for all of us. It means to go to your neighbor, your family, your city, but also “to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8)! Keep these ladies in prayer over the next days, for protection, open doors, and physical endurance!

This Shabbat, December 15th, will be a special time as we hear exciting things that are happening in regards to Israel, evangelism, and the prayer movement converging in these days, bringing forth great and lasting fruit! Our dear friend Matthew Smoller from the International House of Prayer, will be with us, and it will be an awesome and inspiring time for all of us! THERE WILL BE A POT-BLESS ONEG FOLLOWING THE SERVICE, SO BRING A DISH AND STAY FOR WONDERFUL FELLOWSHIP! Also, Biblical Hebrew at 9am, and Torah Club at 3pm!
Blessing and Shabbat Shalom!

Hanukkah Celebrations 2018

Chag Hanukkkah Sameach!

What a wonderful time of the year it is as we celebrate Hanukkah, the Feast of Dedication! We are reminded of a faithful remnant who displayed great strength and took courageous action in the face of incredible odds. They knew that our God is a MIGHTY WARRIOR WHO GOES TO BATTLE FOR HIS PEOPLE! We are also reminded that it is a season to re-dedicate our “temples” so that we can let the light of Messiah shine through us to a dark world! We had a wonderful community celebration for the first night of Hanukkah at Roeh Israel on Sunday. What a glorious and sweet time as hundreds of us gathered for fellowship, communion, food and celebration to usher in the first night of Hanukkah!

We will be having several gatherings this week as a congregation. We will be meeting in homes throughout the Denver area and all are invited!

THURSDAY DECEMBER 6TH: RUSS AND SIRI CRIDER, 6PM. 22493 E. MAPLEWOOD LN. AURORA, 80015. THEY HAVE ASKED THAT WE BRING EITHER FRUIT, BREAD, OR JELLY DOUGHNUTS! AND OF COURSE BRING YOUR HANUKKIAH AND CANDLES!

FRIDAY DECEMBER 7TH: KIRK AND LAJUAN BUSBY AND FAMILY, 6PM. 6908 W. NOVA DR. LITTLETON, 80128. BRING A DISH TO SHARE AS WE WILL HAVE A POT-BLESS AND YOUR HANUKKIAH AND CANDLES!

SUNDAY DECEMBER 9TH; AARON AND EARLENE RICH, 5PM. 5155 W. QUINCY AVE. B102, DENVER, 80236. THEY WILL PROVIDE SOUP AND “DANGEROUS DESSERT”! SO, BRING A DISH TO SHARE AND YOUR HANUKKIAH AND CANDLES!`

These are special times of candle-lighting and fellowship and sharing the love of Yeshua as a community.

This Shabbat, December 8th, I will be sharing the first of a two-part message on THE RESTORATION OF ALL THINGS; MAKING SENSE OUT OF THE CRAZINESS AND CHAOS! We will take a Biblical look at the similarities between the ‘Acts of the Apostles’ in the first century, and the period we are living in today. Do you realize that for the first time in 2000 years that Israel, the Church, and the Messianic Jewish community are existing together at the same time? Do you know that you are CALLED AND DESTINED to be part of His END OF THE AGE plans? Come on out this Shabbat and enjoy the Mishpacha together!

THERE WILL BE AN ONEG AFTER SERVICE FOLLOWED BY TORAH CLUB.  HEBREW CLASS BEGINS AT 9:00 am.

LET REMEMBER TO PRAY FOR MILLIE, PATRICIA, AMBER, LYNETTE AND CARLA EACH DAY AS THEY MINISTER IN NAIROBI KENYA!

Blessing and Shalom!

Shabbat 12/1/2018

Shalom Mishpacha!

Can you believe we are in December already! Millie and I returned this week from our vacation in Europe and it was a wonderful trip! From Amsterdam to Germany and France and ending in Switzerland it was certainly full and beautiful as we cruised and bussed the Rhine River for our 43rd Anniversary! We are thankful to be home, although we are both dealing with jet lag and alot of catching up to do!

This Shabbat, December 1st, we will get our hearts ready for the festival of Hanukkah (Dedication) which begins on Sunday, December 2nd. It seems the longer I walk with The Lord the more I am impacted by not just the symbolic meaning but the prophetic reality of these times. Hanukkah is all about letting our light shine in the darkness by re-dedicating and purifying our own “temples” in a dark and hostile world. The days of the Maccabees and the Hellenistic Antiochus  Epiphanies are very similar to the secular day that we are living in 2018. Materialism, hedonism, idolatry, and selfishness are as prevalent today if not more than over 2000 years ago! I will be sharing about how we should live in these day as “lights in the darkness.”

THERE WILL BE A POTLUCK ONEG FOLLOWING THE SERVICE SO BRING A DISH TO SHARE AND STAY FOR FELLOWSHIP! (Hint, it’s totally appropriate to bring latkes and sufganiot or Jelly donuts!!)

We will be celebrating Hanukkah in various places this next week as we look forward to great fellowship and a lot of potato latkes!

*Sunday, December 2nd at 5pm we will be joining together with the Denver area Messianic community at Congregation Roeh Israel; 8556 E. Warren Ave. Denver, 80210. THIS WILL BE A POTLUCK, SO BRING A DISH! Also, bring your Hanukkiah! This is an awesome opportunity to join hands with other congregations in the city and work toward unity.

*Thursday, December 6th at 6pm we will be gathering at Russ and Siri Crider’s home, 22493 E. Maplewood Ln. Aurora,80015 for candle-lighting, food and great fellowship! Bring your Hanukkiah and either bread, fruit salad or jelly doughnuts to share. Soups will be provided.

*Friday, December 7th at 6pm we are all invited to the Busby home, 6908 W. Nova Dr. Littleton, 80128. Again, bring a dish and your Hanukkiah and and the kids and all your neighbors and let’s do Hanukkah right!

Just a reminder, this week’s Torah Club will be at the home of the Larsen’s at 3pm.

We look forward to seeing all of you this Shabbat! We have missed you very much!

Shabbat November 10, 2018

Shabbat Shalom!

The elections are over (thank God!) and our King is still on His throne! This Shabbat, November 10th, we will be continuing our study into Alignment by exploring “THE HEART OF ABRAHAM” and the covenant purposes of God for His family starting with the father of our Faith Family. Even as we have been seeing in our Torah studies, there is so much we can learn from this man Abraham and his wife Sara not to mention the legacy he left us through his interactions with Father God!

WE WILL HAVE OUR POT-BLESS ONEG FOLLOWING THE SERVICE SO BRING A DISH TO SHARE AND STAY FOR FELLOWSHIP!

We began our Biblical Hebrew class last Shabbat and it was fabulous! It begins at 9am in the fellowship room downstairs, and it’s not too late to get started! You can order your FIRST HEBREW PRIMER (3rd edition) on Amazon if you haven’t already.

Following our Oneg, at 3pm, we will have our Torah Club Study #6, “TOLDOT”. This has been a great time of study and discussion of the Parsha of the week.

Hanukkah is just around the corner! I know it’s hard to believe! We will celebrate the first night of candle-lighting together with the rest of the Messianic Jewish community on Sunday, December 2nd at Roeh Israel Congregation beginning with a potluck at 5pm! More information on this in the coming weeks!

Shabbat Nov 3, 2018

Shabbat Shalom!

Great news this weekend: you get to sleep an extra hour on SUNDAY as Daylight Savings ends so put your clocks back one hour on Saturday night! But before that, come and enjoy a wonderful Shabbat, November 3rd, and bask in His goodness and glory with the “Called Out Ones” of Yeshua!

This week I will be sharing a message on “The Ladder of Law and Grace” a common sense Biblical look at how to set priorities in this crazy world. There is certainly much confusion and misunderstanding in the Body of Messiah on these issues and hopefully this will help bring much needed clarification.

There will be a Pot-Bless Oneg following the service so bring a dish and hang around for fellowship and Hebraic dance.  Afterwards at 3:00 pm we begin our Torah Club. It has been a wonder time!

This Shabbat at 9am before the service, Or Chaim will be starting it’s first Biblical Hebrew class! Kent Brown will be facilitating the introduction into this study where you will learn how to read, write, and speak the language of the Bible. If you haven’t ordered the book yet, you can order it through Amazon. The book is titled THE FIRST HEBREW PRIMER, 3RD EDITION. Even if you don’t have the book yet, but are interested, come to the class at 9am!

Ladies...the 2nd Colorado Messianic Women’s Fellowship Event will be held this Sunday Nov 4th from 2 pm - 5pm at the Koelbel Library 5955 S Holly St

Littleton, CO  80121. We really encourage you to participate as a family of believers with other congregations from around Colorado.

Our 2019 Or Chaim Messianic calendars are here! They are beautiful, full of pictures of Jerusalem, and listing all the Feasts and special days for the next year, even until 2020! They are great for your home or office, and also wonderful to give as gifts!  They will be available at Shabbat for a suggested donation of just $10, so come and get them while they last!  We are also offering royal blue packable jackets with the Or Chaim Logo for $30 ea. Please help us promote our wonderful congregation with these items. We have sizes available and Millie will be taking orders this Shabbat.

Shabbat 10/20/2018

Shalom Everyone!

This shabbat, October 20th @10:30am we will be hosting a dear friend, Alex Yalenga, from Zambia, Africa! Alex is the Messianic Rabbi of Zambia Messianic Fellowship reaching out to Muslims, Jews, and Animists with the good news of the Kingdom from a Jewish perspective. Did you know that Messianic Judaism is growing on the continent of Africa? He and his wife and 4 children have had an incredible impact on the continent of Africa, with an amazing testimony of faith, miracles, and God’s grace and goodness! Their ministry also operates a full-time orphanage that provides education and daily meals to students, as well as funds scholarships for high school. They also have a radio program that reaches remote parts of the country with the gospel. He is a dear friend of Or Chaim and we are honored to have him this week, as he will only be in the Denver area for a short time. This would be a great opportunity to invite family and friends and be challenged and encouraged about what God is doing around the world!

We want to bless Alex and his ministry with a love offering following the service! People often ask us “how can I be involved in making a difference in the world?” One of the most effective ways is to support those, like Alex and his family, who are impacting places for the Kingdom that we may never get the opportunity to visit. You will love this man’s heart! WE WILL HAVE A “POT-BLESS” ONEG FOLLOWING THE SERVICE, SO BRING A DISH AND ENJOY FELLOWSHIP, AND HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO MEET ALEX!

We look forward to seeing you this Shabbat!

Shabbat 10/13/2018

SHABBAT SHALOM!

A well known prophetic voice in the body of Christ recently said ‘we stand at the crossroads of history …war on the saints is escalating as nations heave in the throes of crises, birth pangs, and political correctness gone awry.” It so resonated in my spirit and confirmed that what God has put in my heart to teach lately is from Him! This Shabbat, October 13th, I will be sharing a message about what needs to take place for Yeshua’s return, as a continuation of how we as the bride are to prepare for this incredible climatic event. These are certainly not days to become complacent or to lose heart, but instead to press in to Him with hearts full of faith and hope! This is a very important message you need to hear, so we look forward to seeing you on Shabbat.

WE WILL HAVE A “POT-BLESS” FOLLOWING THE SERVICE, SO BRING A DISH TO SHARE AND STAY FOR WONDERFUL FELLOWSHIP!

Last week we “kicked off” our Torah Club and about 20 people (or more) participated! It was a wonderful time as we discussed God’s Word and heard a bit of everybody’s journey into their walk of faith. This Saturday, October 13th, we will meet at Larry and Joyce Larson home, 117 S.Rogers Way, Golden 80401 at 3pm. Their home is just a few minutes away from the congregation. We want to encourage you to have read the lesson so as to participate and engage in the lesson.

WANT TO LEARN BIBLICAL HEBREW? DO YOU WANT TO READ AND WRITE BIBLICAL HEBREW — AND EVEN BE ABLE TO READ FROM THE TORAH? WE WILL BE OFFERING A CLASS STARTING NOVEMBER 3RD, BEFORE OUR SERVICE, WHERE YOU WILL LEARN THE ALEPH/BET AND CONTINUE THROUGH SEVERAL LESSONS SO AS TO BE ABLE TO READ HEBREW SCRIPTURE! WE WILL BE USING THE FIRST HEBREW PRIMER, SO ORDER IT NOW! If you have any questions, please contact Kent Brown.

We look forward to seeing you this Shabbat!

Shabbat 10/6/2018

Shabbat Shalom!

Whew! What a week! Is it time for Shabbat? God is so incredibly good, let us come together and enjoy a restful peace with Him, after all that is what Shabbat is all about.

This week, October 6th I will be sharing a message on what “the Day of The Lord” will look like. As the Bride, how do we prepare ourselves for that day? These are exciting days we are living, they are also days to get into alignment with what He is doing on planet earth!

This week was Simchat Torah and to commemorate that special Day we will be bringing our “new” Torah (actually it’s about 400 years old!) into our congregation for the first time! How exciting is that! WE WILL HAVE A POT-BLESS AFTER SERVICE SO BRING A DISH AND STAY FOR FELLOWSHIP! It would be great if everyone would help with cleanup afterwards so we can begin our new class.

Our first TORAH CLUB will begin this Shabbat at 3pm in the fellowship room. It will be a wonderful time of learning and Midrash. We are called to be students of the word, and it is especially important in these perverse days.

Remember, our BIBLICAL HEBREW CLASS will be starting on the first Shabbat in November. Talk to Kent Brown and get your Hebrew Primer, and let’s start reading and speaking the language of the Bible!

Shabbat Sept 29,2018

Shabbat Shalom!

What A wonderful Mo’adim (Appointed Times) we have been enjoying! From Yom Teruah and the sound of the Shofar summoning us to get ready for His return. To Yom Kippur, where we recognize the perfect atonement of Yeshua and corporately confess our sins so as to secure our names are written in the Book of Life. And, this week as we welcomed the beautiful festival of Succoth, gathering in flimsy booths, waving the etrog and lulav joyously anticipating the triumphant return of our king at the final harvest. It has been a time of great fellowship and re-focusing our attention on kingdom things! This Shabbat, September 29th, we will be looking at the end days and what it will look like at the time of Yeshua’s return, and how we as the Bride are to be prepared for that day. WE WILL BE HAVING A POT-BLESS (BETTER THAN POT-LUCK!) ONEG, SO BRING A DISH TO SHARE AND STAY FOR SOME GREAT FELLOWSHIP!

There are some exciting things happening at Or Chaim that you can get involved in. Torah Club will be starting on Shabbat, October 6th, in the fellowship room after Oneg If you are interested and haven’t already registered, contact Aaron Rich. Also, and we are really jazzed about this:

WANT TO LEARN BIBLICAL HEBREW? WANT TO DEVELOP A STRONG FOUNDATION TO READ AND WRITE BIBLICAL HEBREW - AND EVEN BE ABLE TO READ DIRECTLY FROM THE TORAH SCROLL? WE WILL BE OFFERING A CLASS STARTING ON SHABBAT MORNINGS (NOVEMBER 3RD) BEFORE SERVICE WHERE WE WILL LEARN HEBREW WITH THE ALEPH/BET AND CONTINUE THROUGH SEVERAL LESSONS TO BEGIN READING HEBREW SCRIPTURE. WE WILL BE USING THE FIRST HEBREW PRIMER, SO JOIN WITH US AND LET’S READ AND WRITE THE LANGUAGE OF SCRIPTURE! If you have any questions or are interested in participating, contact Kent Brown for information and cost of materials.

We look forward to seeing you on Shabbat! These are dangerous and exciting times, so let’s come together to worship God and exalt His name, pray for one another and our nation, and enjoy fellowship with one another!

Shabbat 9/22/2018

Shabbat Shalom and Chag Sameach!

What a fabulous and significant time of the year! As we just completed observing a beautiful Yom Kippur Kol Nidre service on Tuesday evening, where we corporately asked forgiveness of sin and re-committed ourselves to live our lives worthy of the atoning sacrifice of Yeshua. On Wednesday evening, we gathered at the Larsen’s home to close out Yom Kippur with our annual Break-Fast. What a wonderful time of proclamation, fellowship, and food as we all declared,“Next year in Jerusalem!”

We look forward to seeing you this Shabbat, September 22nd, as we prepare to welcome Succoth! We want to look at the significance and prophetic nature of this Mo’ed (Festival of Succah, or Tabernacles). We will actually join together for Erev Succoth on Sunday, September 23rd@ 4:30pm at Patricia DeLeon’s home,10578 Ouray  St. Commerce City 80022, and enjoy fellowship and worship in a real Succah! All are welcome to this wonderful evening, and we will be having a meal together, the chicken will be provided, just bring a side , salad or dessert. The temperature is going to be in the 80’s, so put on the sun screen and come on down and celebrate with us! BECAUSE OF THIS SPECIAL TIME ON SUNDAY, WE WILL NOT BE HAVING OUR USUAL POT-LUCK FOLLOWING THE SHABBAT SERVICE!

WANT TO LEARN BIBLICAL HEBREW? WANT TO DEVELOP A STRONG FOUNDATION TO READ AND WRITE BIBLICAL HEBREW - AND EVEN BE ABLE TO READ DIRECTLY FROM THE TORAH SCROLL? WE WILL BE OFFERING A CLASS, STARTING ON SHABBAT MORNINGS IN NOVEMBER BEFORE SERVICE WHERE WE WILL START WITH THE ALEPH BET AND CONTINUE THROUGH SEVERAL LESSONS TO BEGIN READING HEBREW SCRIPTURE. Shabbat 9/8/2018

Chag Sameach!

This phrase in Hebrew literally means “Happy Holidays”, a traditional greeting for Jewish people at this time of the year. This Sunday evening SEPTEMBER 9TH we come into a very significant time of the year as we celebrate YOM TERUAH (DAY OF THE BLOWING OF TRUMPETS) ALSO KNOWN AS ROSH HASHANAH and where we usher in the 10 Days of Awe leading up to YOM KIPPUR (DAY OF ATONEMENT). The Biblical fall feasts God’s Holy Convocations look forward to our Lord’s return to establish His glorious kingdom on Earth! The mournful wail of the shofar is a call to prepare for His return, by opening our hearts to get rid of anything that hinders His ways in our lives and come into right alignment to Him through repentance (T’Shuva). Come and join us this Sunday for a special Yom Teruah service at 7pm on the Mountain as we blow the shofar in anticipation of His soon return and recall His faithfulness to us by worshipping together and committing ourselves to embrace His righteous ways! We will be dipping apples into honey as a traditional way of looking forward to a “fruitful and sweet New year!

This Shabbat, September 8th, we will be having a special service as we welcome Ron of Spirit of Martyrdom ministries who have just recently returned from a special time in a region that has just in the last years opened up to the gospel of Yeshua! Hear powerful testimony of what our God is doing in a place that up until now has been one of the most hostile to evangelism and the Good News of the God’s Kingdom. We had an awesome time with them when they were with us last year and you don’t want to miss their passionate hearts! We will be taking a love offering for Ron and Nadia and their ministry at the conclusion of the service.

WE WILL HAVE A POTLUCK ONEG FOLLOWING THE SERVICE SO BRING A DISH TO SHARE AND ENJOY THE FELLOWSHIP WITH “MISHPACHA!’

I want to encourage all of you to be faithful in praying for Or Chaim Congregation as God has been adding to our numbers we sense a greater hunger to see breakthrough in lives in the areas of healing, intimacy with Yeshua, restoration of relationships, more kingdom authority in our daily walk, and victory over financial hindrances. Praying for one another is a privilege and indeed a calling we have from the Lord! God will show His power to a people who are on their knees crying out for more of His presence!

CHAG SAMEACH AND SHABBAT SHALOM!
