We have just concluded a packed and fruitful season as we celebrated the Feasts of The Lord, from Yom Teruah (Rosh HaShana) through Succoth! What a wonderful time as we worshipped, experienced, and invited the presence of God into our lives afresh! Last weekend, Or Chaim and two other congregations joined together at Snow Mountain Ranch in Winter Park, to celebrate the Feast of Succoth (Tabernacles), with great fellowship, teaching, and just plain fun. It was also a time of concentrated prayer, as churches and congregations from all over the front range joined together for 10 day, seeking God’s face and crying out for His kingdom purposes to be established at this crucial time.
I really want to encourage everyone to come this Shabbat, October 29th, at 10:30am, as we begin a new cycle of reading from the Torah, starting “In the beginning” (B’Resheet), the book of Genesis. We will also be ordaining Shari Meisel as a Minister of the Gospel, as she has been faithfully ministering to widows through Widow’s Cause Intl., so come and join us as we honor Shari for her service!
The Lord has put a timely message on my heart, as the elections are fast approaching, on how to vote biblically. It is not about who to vote for, but I want to lay a scriptural foundation of why and how we discern what is on Father’s heart! If you have already voted, it is not a problem, we still need to know how to pray! We will have a potluck Oneg following the service, but don’t eat too much, because we are having our monthly Havdalah gathering at Tom and Mary’s farm that evening! That will start at 5pm. Contact Mary for directions.
On Wednesday evening, November 2nd, Widow’s Cause will be holding a benefit concert featuring Messianic worshipper Jimmy Black. It will be a wonderful evening as the ladies raise finances for the outreach ministry to Israel! They will be bringing life and joy to holocaust survivors and their families. The concert will be at Harkins Theater, in Northfield’s shopping center, from 6:30-8:30pm. Tickets are $20 in advance, or $25 at the door. We hope to see you there!
I am reminded what the writer of Hebrews wrote, “and let us not neglect meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near”. These are those days, and it so important to honor the Lord on the Shabbat, and be an encouragement to one another!
Blessings and Shabbat Shalom!
